Day 06- Favorite super hero and why
Iron Man
I grew up loving both Iron Man and Spider-Man. The first memory with the two was having two disks for my old computer that you could read comics and watch parts of the animated series on. That’s when I fell in love with the Modular armor. From 8-17 I don’t remember too much about about my love for Iron man (other than buying some toys when I was little and watching the animated series a bit). My REAL love began when I heard rumors of the movie. I started searching stuff on internet and fell in love with the Extremis-esk armor first (love at first sight lol). Then I started looking up armors online, learning quite a bit about them. When Owned! Comics and Cards opened it just further fueled me by letting me get closer access to monthly comics, which I picked up an chance I got. I started at Invincible Iron Man #3 and worked through that, picking up random one-shot issues, going back to Civil War, and comics like “Demon In A Bottle” along the way. When the movie came out I lost my mind, saw it about 5 times in theaters. He was just such a cool character to me, pompous pampered billionaire that did have to work for what he had, but not in the way that he did after his life and death situation. I loved his armors, always wishing I could have Modular or Extremis (two popular armors I know). I played Vs. System for a bit because of Iron Man. I used ironmanarmory.com for any extra information I needed to know when it came to armors, and though many didn’t agree with me on sides, I stood by Tony when it came to Civil Way (recruiting Thunderbolts FTW!). I have a extensive collection of toys, posters and shirts all within my room, including the GameStop stand up Iron Man for the release of the game from my friend (terrible game, but I beat it just for Iron Man). The news of the second movie sparked my love again (having gone through a little less obsession after Owned! closed and I didn’t get the comics monthly anymore). Hearing War Machine was in it was a real treat cause I always liked Rhodey as well. Sadly, only saw the movie twice in theaters but hey, it was quite good as well. So yeah, that’s an history/overview why I LOVE Iron Man. Yes, I am/still pretty obsessed XD.
